This Media Studies Factsheet:
• Considers the Star Trek franchise in general, contextual terms and to identify its position in media history.
• Evaluates the media franchise in terms of genre and audience theory.
• Applies genre and audience ideas to the most recent version of Star Trek created by JJ Abrams in the feature films Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013).
