397. Using Models, Concepts and Theories for the Independent Investigation (NEA)

This Geo Factsheet attempts to distinguish between concepts models and theories and suggests how students might use them more successfully as a means to improve performance in the NEA. There are some very useful (often unusual!) examples which should inspire students to adding greater rigour and focus to their work.

At the same time, the Factsheet outlines some of the pitfalls for example avoiding comparing a British town to the Burgess model.
