Description

The Lake District is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage site in northern England. It is a highly popular tourist destination for a number of reasons: mainly the mountains and lakes for adventurous activities as well as cultural attractions associated with the likes of William Wordsworth. However, such high volumes of tourists have had some severe impacts on this unique place.

Throughout the Factsheet there is clear reference to the different aspects of sustainability which could be linked to a number of other case studies and examples.
