Description

This Geography Factsheet examines briefly recent trends in the global tourist industry and defines and explores the phenomenon of overtourism, and how its impacts have been manifested in several locations – both rural and urban – across the world. It evaluates the reactions, responses and interventions from local people and decision-makers to overtourism such that conflicting environmental, economic and cultural issues are addressed to satisfy most people who live in the areas affected.
