232. Living Apart Together

Description

This Sociology Factsheet will look at how couples ‘live apart together’, a new way of living within a relationship. It will examine how relationships have changed and will explore how this arrangement works.

The Factsheet includes Exam Hints to help you to use your knowledge to gain maximum marks, while the activities give you the opportunity to apply what you have learned and will help you develop your skills in this area.

Words in bold are explained in the glossary and a reference list is included at the end of the Factsheet.

The examiner will expect you to be able to:

• Demonstrate your understanding of how relationships have changed in recent years.
• Demonstrate your understanding of why couples, who are together, decide to live apart.
• Effectively use this information in answers relating to family and households.
