This Geography Factsheet will attempt to define what human rights are, outline the various international agreements that are used with regard to global Human Rights (the UDHR, the ECHR and the Geneva Convention), discuss how Human Rights abuses are sometimes used as a justification for geopolitical interventions around the world and look into potential reasons as to why some cases of human rights abuses seem to get limited or no geopolitical intervention, and provide case studies of both scenarios.
