This Sociology Factsheet will look at the COVID-19 pandemic, assessing the impact the virus has had on our sense of identity, and the changes we may have adopted. The Factsheet includes Exam Hints to help you to use your knowledge to gain maximum marks, while the activities give you the opportunity to apply what you have learned and will help you develop your skills in this area.

Words in bold are explained in the glossary and a reference list is included at the end of the Factsheet.

The examiner will expect you to be able to:

Demonstrate your understanding of the process of identity formation, both individual factors and social influences.
Demonstrate your understanding of how this process can be linked to our own identities and the changes that may have occurred during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Be confident in incorporating contemporary examples and illustration in an exam response.
