Description

This Psychology Factsheet provides an overview of some well known case studies of brain injury that you may come across when studying psychology. Words in bold are defined in the glossary and the worksheet allows the opportunity to practice what you have learned. Exam Hints and a reference list are included.

The examiner will expect you to be able to:

• Explain the events that cause brain injury to occur and name the specific parts of the brain that are damaged.
• Explain what issues in behaviour and deficits in cognition brain injury causes.
• Be able to draw conclusions about the function of parts of the brain from the deficits caused when they these regions are damaged.
• Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of case studies.
