The examiner will expect you to describe and evaluate the origin and development of phobias according to the behaviourist approach, including reference to Mowrer’s Two Factor Model. The examiner will also expect you to discuss behavioural treatments of phobias including flooding and systematic desensitisation. Keywords are highlighted throughout this Psychology Factsheet and you can find all of the definitions in the glossary at the end. You will also find a worksheet with examination style questions on the final page. You could use this to help consolidate and revise the information.
