This Media Studies Factsheet should be read with Factsheet Number 204: The Sims Freeplay: Part 1 which focuses on audience and industry issues.

The aims of this Media Studies Factsheet are to provide an introduction to The Sims Freeplay as a close study product and provide some analysis of:

  1. The use of media language in the presentation of the game including the construction of genre codes.
  2. The construction of representations within the game.
  3. The way the game makes meaning.
