246. Issues and Debates: Cultural Bias in Psychology

Description

This Psychology Factsheet explains and evaluates the issue of cultural bias in psychology. The Factsheet includes Exam Hints, and the worksheet gives you the opportunity to apply what you have learned to exam-style questions. Words in bold are explained in the glossary and a reference list is included at the end.

The examiner will expect you to be able to:
1. Outline what is meant by the terms universality, bias, ethnocentrism and cultural relativism in the context of psychology.
2. Explain the issue of cultural bias in psychology with reference to published research.
3. Evaluate the issue of cultural bias in psychology.
