Environmental Science Factsheet: 187. Tropical Deforestation

Description

Deforestation has been defined as the temporary or permanent clearance of forest. It occurs when forest is replaced by another land use. This means that selective logging, for example, is not considered as deforestation, especially if there is some policy of replanting. This Environmental Science Factsheet explains:
