Description

Urban energy generation such as that produced by small scale wind turbines installed on or around buildings is an example of microgeneration. The UK Government has set targets of reducing the country’s carbon dioxide emissions to 60% below 1990 levels by 2050. Will microgeneration, therefore become more important?

This Environmental Studies Factsheet explains:
• The case for and against wind energy.
• How much energy is stored in the wind?
