272. The Psychology of Retail Marketing

Description

This Psychology Factsheet provides an overview and critique of the psychology of retail marketing. Words in bold are explained in the glossary and the worksheet provides an opportunity to practice what you have learned with exam-style questions. A reference list is included.

The examiner will expect you to be able to:

  • Demonstrate that you understand the processes involved in retail marketing and how they affect and influence the consumer.
  • Describe the key aspects of relevant psychological theories of retail marketing.
  • Evaluate the theories of retail marketing and associated research by considering the strengths and limitations.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how the psychology of retail marketing can be used by retailers to influence consumer behaviour.
