404. NGOs: Blessing or Curse? - Part 2

Description

This Geography Factsheet is the sequel to Factsheet 398, which looked at big international NGOs. This Factsheet explores the important and vital role of nationally or locally based NGOs. It makes the point that whilst there are contrasts between the largely top down methods and the bottom up community led approaches, both have their strengths and weaknesses. Their effectiveness on managing some of the key issues facing society such as the climate emergency or world poverty would be improved by greater linkage and communication between the agencies.
