275. The Scientific Nature of Different Approaches in Psychology

Description

This Psychology Factsheet examines the nature of the scientific method, and then assesses how scientific each of the major approaches in psychology is. Words in bold are defined in the glossary and the worksheet allows the opportunity to practice what you have learned. Exam Hints and a reference list are included.

The examiner will expect you to be able to:

  • Clearly define what we mean by the term ‘science’.
  • Analyse how scientific each of the major approaches in psychology are.
  • Use examples of studies and theories in each approach to support your analysis.
