222. Rise of Atheism in Britain Today

Description

This Sociology Factsheet will look at the rise of atheism in Britain today and will explore the reasons for this rise. This Factsheet includes Exam Hints to help you to use your knowledge to gain maximum marks, while the activities give you the opportunity to apply what you have learned and will help you develop your skills in this area.

The examiner will expect you to be able to:

  1. Demonstrate your understanding of the religious beliefs in Britain today and how these believes have changed over time.
  2. Demonstrate your understanding of how and why religious beliefs are declining and why atheism has increased.
  3. Critically evaluate the difficulties in measuring religious belief.
  4. Be confident in using the concept of atheism in an exam answer.
