295. Operational amplifiers (Op-amps)

Description

The operational amplifier or op-amp is one of the most useful building blocks of electronics. Inside, there is likely to be a moderately complicated circuit involving a couple of dozen transistors or so; however, like many things in electronics and computing, it can be treated as black box: you don’t need to know how it works, only what it does.
