  • Location and Geography: what and where are the
    Everglades?

The Everglades are a massive watershed in South Florida, which drains overflow from the shallow Lake Okeechobee
fed by the Kissimmee River. The overflow forms a very shallow
river about 60 miles wide and 100 miles long that travels about half
a mile per day. Approximately 1.7 billion gallons of water drain from
the Everglades to coastal waters each day.
